AmeriCorps*VISTA
Volunteers
in Service to America (VISTA) members work
toward eradicating poverty in our communities by
developing sustainable systems to help people
help themselves. Members must be 18 years
old and have self-initiative, flexibility and
organizational skills. Responsible member
with college degrees or at least three years of
work experience preferred. Among other
challenges, VISTA members work to improve:

- Crime

Service
Team:
- Members
commit to one year of full-time (40 hours
per week) service.

Benefits
of Service:
- Living
allowance of approximately $11,388 for the
year of service (before taxes)
- $4,725
education award or $1,200 year-end cash
stipend upon completion of the terms of
service
- $200
per month housing allowance paid directly to
the landlord

paid vacation days, 10 paid sick days, and 9
paid holidays

loan deferment on qualified student loans
