Volunteer
Construction
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) homes are built almost entirely (90%!) by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. Our skilled on-site construction team provides all tools, safety equipment, instruction and preparation for the site.
Volunteer days on the construction sites are Tuesdays through Saturdays. We have a large need for weekday volunteers. Please consider volunteering with us
then.

There are opportunities for individuals and groups to volunteer on a construction site. Click on the category below that best describes you.
- Construction Crew Member - This is
your traditional hard hat wearing, hammer swinging, paint brush wielding,
shovel embracing volunteer who commits to an 8-hour day on our construction
site.
- Volunteering as a Group
- Crew Leaders - Become a construction Crew Leader! A Crew Leader
regularly assists at the construction sites by supervising small groups of
volunteers in construction tasks. They teach and work directly with
sponsors, unskilled volunteers and homeowners. Skilled volunteers with
construction experience will receive training specific to
HFH GLA construction practices provided during a mulit-week training
course. Crew Leaders commit to volunteering two days per month.
For more information, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@habitatla.org
or (310) 323-4663 ext. 113.

(When people show up late or leave early it makes it difficult for our supervisors to properly train volunteers or accomplish the construction goals for the day.)
Skills Required:
